Welcoming Colleen Humbles to the Business Development Team
With a busy new year ahead and continuing growth, our business development team have welcomed new addition Colleen Humbles to support them in delivering the best customer service. With a 19-year working background in the timber industry, Colleen is more than equipped to fulfill her key responsibilities of managing customer relationships as a Key Account Manager.
Colleen moved to Cheshire from South Africa 20 years ago with her two children, following starting up her own clothing manufacturing business. This provided her with a good overall understanding of manufacturing and managing customers, facilitating her career path in the UK across various timber engineering companies.
Beginning as a designer and working her way up to a Design Team Manager, Colleen has acquired vast technical knowledge around this industry working for the likes of Palgrave Brown and Donaldson’s. Furthermore, in recent years she has taken her technical expertise to the road with more customer-focused roles. This opportunity to create strong working relationships with existing and new customers is an area she is most looking forward to at RML.
An induction week for the business development team encompasses much of what their daily role will be; meeting new people and setting targets. Colleen has already had a busy travelling week of visiting our Central, Midlands and North West branches. Meeting most of the Senior Leadership Team early on has created an understanding around how RML operates in both the Truss and Flooring divisions. Although Colleen already has the background product knowledge required, factory tours and system inductions have given her an insight into RML’s specific processes.
Setting targets and allocating customers so they can become familiar with Colleen has been a priority and initial contact has already been made. Whilst looking after the likes of Bellway and Bloor, she will also be working on increasing the amount of opportunities from small and medium house builders.
Colleen has a hunger for success through achieving happy and repeat customers. Making RML a long term ‘home’ and progressing within the business is also a long-term goal for her and she will be fully supported by the team through this process.
