Upgrading our Finance Team
For the last few months, Finance Director Sam Gartside has been focused on upgrading the experience and capacity of the company’s finance team. Sam joined the business in April 2020 and spent the first few months getting to know her own team – as well as the rest of the business – via video call as we moved through a range of lockdown measures.
Development of the Finance Team has revolved around putting the right people in the right places to ensure the function is able to support the rapidly-growing business successfully.
Management Accountant Anthony Jane-Gray, who joined the business in September last year, has already implemented improvements by returning month end accounts within the KPI target of five days. This represents a significant improvement for the company’s Senior Leadership team and will get even better as Anthony and his team move closer to achieving a three day turnround.
Further investment in people within the RML Finance Team has come with the appointment of Mihaela Grumazescu to the role of Financial Controller. Michaela will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transactional side of the business. Sam views the addition of Mihaela to the team as imperative to its success:
“Mihaela is relatively new to the business but has demonstrated our key values from the off and the new role is a key element of the department and for the continued success of the business.”
New recruit, Sali Paterson, has also been warmly welcomed to the team, as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Sali was immediately thrown in at the deep-end with invoice volumes across the team continuing at pace as the business manages record demand from a buoyant housing market.
