Training on New Saws at RML West Midlands

RML is installing three new automated saws in its West Midlands timber frame operation and we have engaged Daltons Wadkin to train colleagues in safe and effective use of the new equipment. Daltons Wadkin are a PIABC Quality Assured training provider and have been providing industry led training for over 10 years and have a long running training delivery partnership with RML.

Some participants of the previously mentioned Kickstart scheme will be making up some of the team that are receiving training. Their skillset and eagerness to learn has seen them be made into full time colleagues, which is a move made in line with the business growth and the expansion of infrastructure.

The team who will be trained on the new equipment include several who have recently accepted full time roles with RML after taking part in the Government sponsored Kickstart programme.

Managing Director of RML, Mark Smy, who has overseen the installation, has said:

“As we look ahead to a post- COVID world, where demand is high and timber is at a premium, investing in the further development of our production infrastructure to ensure we continue to deliver to customer requirements.”
