Maintaining a Quality Management System for Timber Supply and Processes

At Robinson Manufacturing we ensure that all timber utilised for our products conform to industry specification and are supplied from sustainable sources. We work with CATG, one of the UK’s leading timber and construction certification, examination and notification bodies. In addition to timber quality checks, we are expanding this accreditation to include a quality management system around our processes.

CATG is approved by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service as a certification body for ISO 9001, which oversees the operations of an organisation. This regulates consistent working processes, allowing all employees in the business to be aware of correct practices.

We are proud to operate the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, demonstrating to customers our ability to provide high quality service and meet statutory requirements. As part of this accreditation, our departments have compiled process maps to display business operations. Applied to Robinson Manufacturing, this ensures we present the following:

  • Monitoring and measuring equipment calibration records.
  • Records of training, skills, experience and qualifications.
  • Product/service requirements review records.
  • Records around the design and development outputs review.
  • Records around design and development inputs.

This ensures we take quality management further than our product offering. Quality is also proven through our facilities, employee training and design software.

In addition, we continue to uphold our CATG auditing, in which a member of their team visits our sites to confirm the quality of timber acquired. The CATG audit for 2020 has already been completed at a number of our factories, confirming our certification will be continued, in which documentation can be found here.
