Self-Build project in Surrey
Continuing our relationship with a regional contractor in Hampshire, we are pleased to be supplying a range of trusses for a self-build residential project in Surrey. This successful building company has over 30 years experience in the sector, with a wealth of experience in both residential and commercial projects, consolidating their reputation with strong project management and a highly skilled workforce.
Based in the town of Leatherhead, this home benefits from excellent transport links from South London, whilst also being on the doorstep of Surrey’s area of outstanding natural beauty.
Our Designer Henry Mottershead-Jones worked with our customer to establish the appropriate design for this grand home and utilise the space. As can be seen from the design example below, raised tie trusses were used at the ends of the home to keep the ceiling height consistent throughout the second floor where they had different wallplate heights.
Furthermore, adjoining hipped roofs with an intruded flat roof section in the middle were utilised to install a sky light. Our talented design teams are familiar with working around these specific design features and innovative solutions are used to maximise space.
Design challenges were overcome as this is an asymmetric roof, which required roof lines to measure through correctly. In addition, Henry ensured roof surfaces were at the correct height so the flat roof section matched the architect’s drawing.
We look forward to tendering more opportunities for this Southern based contractor and providing solutions for further self-build projects.
