Robinson Manufacturing Acquires Cheshire Roof Trusses
In a move designed to extend its operations to cover the whole of England and Wales, Robinson Manufacturing Ltd (RML) is delighted to announce the acquisition of Cheshire Roof Trusses Ltd (CRT).
Over the last five years, RML’s careful, structured development programme has already seen it grow from its two East Midlands based roof truss and floor joist plants, with the opening of a new factory in Essex in 2013 and another in South Wales in 2017.
Looking for the right opportunity to expand operations further into the North West, Chief Operating Office Simon Kidney explained the logic behind the acquisition:
“Cheshire Roof Trusses has 29 years of history in the North West and a tradition of providing the very best product and service to its customers. The brand, together with the location, seemed to be a perfect marriage for Robinson Manufacturing and we look forward to building on the success of John and Ian Lewis. Strategically it enables RML to service parts of the of the country efficiently to provide the first in class service that we have been able to provide elsewhere”.
Until now, the North West has been a relatively untapped market for Robinson Manufacturing. But with a strong house building sector and the advent of HS2, developing an effective manufacturing base there is a natural step, backed by demand from northern-based divisions of national housebuilder clients.
Currently serviced by the existing four RML factories in the South East, Central and Wales & West, these customers appreciate the quality of service the business provides and are keen to be able to work with us across the north as well.
Robinson Manufacturing welcomes the Cheshire Roof Trusses team to the business and looks forward to building on its strengths to expand the company’s reach to the thriving housebuilding sector in the North West.
