Phased Return to Production
After a difficult period for everyone in the construction sector, our daily engagement with customers and the wider housebuilding sector indicates that they are planning how and when to re-open their sites over the next few weeks, with some planning for this from as early as next week.
Robinson Manufacturing (RML) have followed government advice throughout, whilst our teams have been planning for the time when production can safely be restarted.
This planning has included detailed research and preparation of working instructions and supervision procedures, including updated Toolbox Talks, risks assessments and continual social distancing which will allow our factories to operate safely. Government advice on self-isolating continues to be followed. Ongoing engagement and communication with customers ensures this also incorporates any new safety advice issued by housebuilders to their broader supply chain.
This ability to adapt quickly to any changing circumstances allows us to phase in production at two of our seven sites from 27th April in a very controlled manner to ensure the ongoing safety of our teams as we look to meet the level of demand now becoming evident.
The majority of our office-based staff will continue to work from home for the moment to ensure required social distancing can be maintained.
We are also working closely with our customers across the country to identify their production priorities so RML can help them meet outstanding and immediate demand as they are reopen sites.
Throughout the lockdown, we have worked tirelessly to maintain full, daily engagement with our staff – whether working from home or furloughed on 100% of their normal salaries, on their normal payday. This proactive programme has built an even stronger sense of family right across the business which will benefit all over coming days, months and years. Our teams remain fully committed to RML and are ready to come back to work as soon as it is safe to do so.
We look forward to continuing to work with you as the UK starts to get safely back to work.
