I-Beam order secured for Vistry South West
Vistry Partnerships have secured a joint venture to meet the growing need for affordable homes to buy and rent in Exeter. Partnering with LiveWest – the largest housing provider of affordable housing in the region – they will be developing a site that they hope will eventually hold 700 new homes.
In addition to these new homes, a community will be built including a school, retail centre, community centre and doctor’s surgery. This is part of LiveWest’s significant plans to delivery 16,000 homes over the next 10 years, with a £2 billion investment into the South West economy.
Plans have been approved to build 380 new homes in this popular suburb of Pinhoe, with Vistry’s South West office collaborating to work on plans for this 32-acre site. The development has been named Harrington Park, nodding to the well-known area of the suburb and the design, which incorporates open green space and a pond for the new residents and existing community. The scheme is set to take around eight years to complete in total.
We are pleased to be working closely with Vistry to provide I-Beams for 114 plots on this vast site, with more to follow in future phases. Although call-offs are currently on hold due to lockdown restrictions, work began on site in March and we hope recent changes will mean they are able to return to building soon.
The proposed scheme will include a range of homes, from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom family houses. In addition to the provision of new homes the development will contribute towards improvements in transport, education and community facilities. This partnership between Vistry South West stretched over 10 years has provided numerous homes and created new communities – something we are proud to be a part of.
