New additions to our Scottish Fleet

There have been some exciting developments for Scotland recently with the addition of two new vehicles to the fleet, increasing capacity for our Flooring factory in Fife, Scotland.

The first vehicle to be delivered consisted of a custom flatbed rigid truck, which provides many benefits of improved security, ease of movement around the factory and additional space for drivers. The second tractor unit is due to be delivered imminently and thus complete our updated fleet.

Our Transport and Planning Supervisor John Beveridge further commented on the excitement around the new vehicles:

“Really pleased to have taken delivery of a custom-made flatbed 26T, complete with centre poles and a 9 1/4m loading bed, rear lift axle for better manoeuvring on site, extra anchor points for load security and a spacious cab for overnight. Planning loads with the restrictions of the curtain side lorry brought some difficulties but this has made all the difference. It is also good to see our lorries with our logo head off to site, all in all just brilliant.”

Keeping our fleet up to date is always a priority translates into a positive delivery experience for our customers.

The new vehicles were straight out on the road as pictured below is a load of pre-cut i-beams being secured in preparation for the truck’s first delivery to Westhill site for Stewart Milne Homes.

These pristine new trucks do not only deliver to Scotland, as the Factory in Fife also covers the whole North East of England – so keep your eyes peeled for the RML logo on roads in the North!
