NEBOSH National General Certificate Course
Ensuring our staff are up to date with the latest health and safety measures is vital at Robinson Manufacturing (RML). For this reason, we have had staff undertake NEBOSH courses (National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety). The courses are designed to provide the staff at RML with the skills to deal with a variety of health and safety issues.
RML’s HSE & Facilities Co-ordinator, Emma Carr, is currently undertaking the NEBOSH National General Certificate course. The NEBOSH General Certificate course provides an overview of the core aspects of occupational health and safety. Emma Comments:
“Holding the NEBOSH National General Certificate will enable me to conduct Contractor Approvals more thoroughly, as per legal requirements, and further develop my understanding of key health & safety principles. I try to use 1 day in the working week (unless anything business/safety critical comes up, which I would therefore prioritise) to spend completing the course, as well as home-based learning in the evenings.”
The course is broken down into two elements; the course consists of an online exam (NG1) and a practical risk assessment based on the workplace (NG2).
After the course is completed, the certificate will give Emma a knowledgeable understanding of the UK’s legal requirements/regulations and be able to identify and control common workplace hazards.
