Joists Site Installation with Masonry Hangers
To provide support for our house builder customers, Field Technical Manager Dean Thomas is available for site visits. In addition initial visits for new customers to familiarise them with our products, Dean often makes pro-active visits to existing customers for installation queries and general service checks. In recent weeks, Dean has attended a site for an existing Bedfordshire house builder, witnessing the installation of our I-Beam joists with masonry hangers.
Traditional masonry hangers are often used as an I-Joist installation alternative, allowing the joist to sit on the masonry hanger rather than the wall. Many house builders use this method for efficient installation, as the back plate sits flush with the supporting masonry. The increased top flange also spreads the loading over a greater surface area. Furthermore, masonry hangers have been shown to provide benefits of reduction in air leakage and improved sound insulation.
This site development consists of 4 new build homes, in the town of Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire. We have provided both trusses and joists for this particular site, with further orders secured for this house builder within other developments. With the support from Dean and Key Account Developer Jordan Wagstaff, we look forward to seeing the completed site and the opportunity to tender for future developments.
