Help to Buy Changes Impact on Expected Completions
Professor Noble Francis, Economics Director of the Construction Products Association, notes that according to Homes England guidance although Help to Buy purchases in its current form need to complete by the end of March 2021, house builder plots need to be finished by 31 December 2020 in order to keep access to Help to Buy funding. So expect to see an acceleration in housing completions in 2020 Q3/Q4.
Housebuilders planning ahead for the anticipated acceleration in housing completions as we move through 2020 will be looking to their supply chain to ensure deadlines are met.
RML ahead of the game on capacity
Robinson Manufacturing is ahead of the game on capacity; the 2019 acquisition of National Hickman’s flooring business added to our own dedicated joist plant, means we have some of the larges joist production facilities in the UK, and with a total of eight factories across England, Wales and Scotland, we are more than well placed to meet additional demand driven by the changes in Help to Buy.
