Handling Record Breaking Production
With demand continuing to rise, record breaking production weeks at Robinson Manufacturing (RML) have become the norm. For some idea of scale, RML now typically produces more joists in a week than we did in a whole quarter back in 2015 when the current Management took over the business from founder Tim Robinson in an MBO.
The challenge for our senior leadership team is to continue to deliver these phenomenal volumes, on time and without letting our high standards of service and communication slip. And while record breaking demand is always exciting, that demand is going into factories that are already busy!
Head of Joist Production at our West Midlands factory (and lifelong Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter), Jamie Wilkins, knows that it is the focus and commitment of his teams that is really making the difference:
“Demand at this level is unprecedented, but my production teams here in Wolves have more than risen to the challenge, while the focus of our amazing Call-Off and Customer Experience teams is ensuring that everything gets to site when it’s needed,” he explained. “Our covid-secure environment means that we have the majority of our administration staff now working at the offices again, and it’s great to see different departments working so closely as a team to successfully pull off this record breaking production week after week.”
Meanwhile, infrastructure developments re in progress across the business, to provide additional manufacturing and storage capacity against anticipated future demand.
