Get to know our Business Development Team

We are glad to have increasing contact with our customers as housebuilders gradually return to work. As we have shown through our daily employee vlogs, we value face-to-face contact in this period of separation. Therefore, we want to introduce our Business Development Team, whose role it is to build and maintain working relationships with our customers and provide consistent support:

If you have a development project you’d like to talk to our timber frame team about, email or call us on 01933 279597.

Mark Gibson – Head of Business Development

Joining RML in 2015, Mark brings an extensive Business Development, Customer Experience & Commercial background in a number of industries from Planning & Events, Recruitment and the Banking industry.

Through managing our business development team based in various locations nationally, Mark collaborates to ensure RML meet our customer’s needs now and into the future. By attending initial meetings and managing relationships, Mark aims to service and expand on our product base throughout the UK and Wales. Managing by geography, customer and daily need, he arranges where our time and efforts need to be spent in order to ensure our excellent standards are delivered as promised across the board.

In addition to managing his team, it is essential for Mark to work closely with all other departments in the business, commenting:

“In this industry, organisation, and collaborative working with all divisions from Design / Estimation, Production, delivery and Finance are key to as smooth customer journey from start to finish.”

Jordan Wagstaff – Key Account Manager

After joining RML from our acquisition of National Hickman’s ETFS Business, Jordan now utilises his extensive design experience to support the Joist division of the business. This experience was gained from 5 years as a Joist Designer for key accounts such as Redrow & Barratts, before moving into his role as Key Account manager.

Jordan utilises our vast capacity to meet and support customer’s flooring needs, mainly covering the Midlands region. He always goes the extra mile for customers, often visiting sites to provide assistance.

Jordan has seen and facilitated vast growth, commenting: ‘During my time here, the business has gone from strength to strength. From my first week in which RML were producing 50 plots of joists a week, to now 350/400 plots – which is an unbelievable achievement.’

Jason Dorks – Key Account Manager (Eastern Regions)

Joining RML in November 2019, Jason has been a fantastic addition to the team covering the Scotland and Eastern regions. Through working as a Business Development Manager for various companies, Jason has experience in timber engineering – particularly in the supply of external facades and timber frames.

This has proven to be an excellent starting point for Jason in order to pick up product knowledge quickly and understand our customer’s needs.

In addition to sourcing new business prospects, he upholds the relationships we have built with our valued customers through his enthusiastic and approachable nature.

Colleen Humbles – Key Account Manager (Western Regions)

Despite Colleen being the newest addition to the team – joining in January this year – she has settled in to RML seamlessly and already created great connections with our customers.

Colleen moved to Cheshire from South Africa 20 years ago with her two children, following starting up her own clothing manufacturing business. This provided her with a good overall understanding of manufacturing and managing customers, facilitating her career path in the UK across various timber engineering companies. She has therefore gained extensive experience in Engineered Wood Products over 19 years and has been able to bring new contacts into the business.

She now manages all new business opportunities within the Western region and maintains strong relationships with our existing customer base. Colleen has a hunger for success through achieving happy and repeat customers. Making RML a long term ‘home’ and progressing within the business is also a long-term goal for her and she will be fully supported by the team through this process.

Jo Parr – Customer Liason Manager

After working in various customer focused roles, our CEO Simon Kidney brought Jo into the business after knowing her strong customer service and organisation skills. Starting in 2015 through a completely new role as the business had grown, Jo managed the whole customer journey before the introduction of our now established Customer Experience Team.

Jo now works closely with our Customer Experience Team to manage enquiries, ensure satisfaction throughout a customer’s whole journey and maintain consistent contact for national and regional housebuilders.

Working with various areas of the business, Jo also ensures and checks on post purchase satisfaction and assists with any future tenders from the relationships formed.

Aimee Steadman – Business Development Executive

Aimee joined the business after a Supervisor position and a number of customer facing roles. She was approached by Mark Gibson through a mutual contact and she was brought in to RML to assist with new business development, helping Jo with acknowledgements.

Aimee’s role consists of making initial contact with buyers who may require our products. She also manages delivery of our business packs to ensure customers are fully informed around how we operate, in addition to following up on responses from quotes.

Whereas Jo focuses more on national and regional customers, Aimee mainly communicates with one-off orders and smaller developments. She is passionate about ensuring customer satisfaction and regularly communicates with the Customer Experience Team to do this.
