From Floor to Wheel, Pawel Holka’s career change
Pawel Holka started with Robinson Manufacturing in October of 2012 as Truss operative, working on the shop floor of the Wellingborough manufacturing plant.
His enthusiasm and hard work saw him progress quickly to a vital member of the yard team, responsible for picking timber for jobs, cutting on the saws and taking trusses out of the factory to be loaded. Pawel’s constant drive to learn new skills led him to start taking lessons to gain his HGV Class 2 licence. In January of this year, Pawel started working as a Class 2 driver in our Mercedes 18t vehicle. With more site access becoming tighter and tighter, this provided Robinson Manufacturing with a well needed addition to the fleet. In the middle of March, around the time of Pawel’s probation period in his new role finishing, we took delivery of the new Scania which now provides Pawel with a shiny, fully branded vehicle.
Pawel’s experience of working in the truss factory and the yard gives him a great head start in the ways of a truss manufacturing plant and what’s involved in delivering roof trusses – far more than just sitting behind the wheel!
