Designing for Prestige & Homeseeker Park and Leisure Homes
Prestige & Homeseeker Park and Leisure Homes are a business RML are proud to have built a long standing working relationship with. Traditionally Robinson Manufacturing have always supplied standard lengths joists for their projects. However in the case of their newest batch of park homes in Scotland, they required metal web joist rafters to be designed.
The requirement was for the joists to be designed at a pitch and have top chord overhangs whilst being supported on the end vertical timbers. This isn’t a typical design for joists as it is more in relation to roof design, the 2 and 5 bed sets required angled cuts to be made in order to get the joists the correct finish for installation. Using this unique approach to design enabled RML to achieve the aesthetic that Prestige were looking for. Another benefit of this is that it is one of the strongest methods to use when designing a roof.
Tom Taylor, Metal Web Designer and Estimator, has this to say about the design process and customer relationship:
“Being involved in the design stage of the joists we are supplying for Prestige has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the technical skill involved in our work. Due to the large volume of the order, there is a real focus delivery of quality and quantity. It has been a great challenge and Prestige have been a pleasure to work with as they have been very clear in what they are looking for.”
