Creating Beautiful Places for The Duchy of Cornwall

Poundbury, part of the Duchy of Cornwall estate, is an urban extension to the town of Dorchester. Built on the principles of architecture advocated by The Prince of Wales in ‘A Vision of Britain’ it is also the latest tender secured by Robinson Manufacturing (RML).

Working with ZeroC Holdings, part of Places for People, RML will be supplying roof trusses and joists, with the joists due for delivery in October in line with the project requirements.

The project follows the Duchy of Cornwall’s usual approach, to reflect the local character and identity by creating beautiful spaces. With 35% of the housing under construction in Poundbury also classed as affordable housing for rental or shared ownership, the development is a viable option for more people from a wide social mix.

Key Account Manager, Colleen Humbles, had this to say:

“Working on Poundbury has been an interesting project with lots of stages along the way. Collaborating on a development that makes meaningful choices by offering beautiful housing has also been a rewarding experience, on both a personal and professional level. The team working on Poundbury have been a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Scott Purnell, Buyer for the project from ZeroC/Places for People said:

“We are looking forward to working with RML on our new development in Poundbury and building a new relationship together”
