Coventry Rugby Kit Launch – spot the RML logo

Gerard Ellis and Rob Knox in the new season kit

Our friends at Coventry Rugby launched their new kit last Friday night (August 9th) in a special day which included a supporter event at Butts Park Arena as well as taking the new home and away looks into Coventry city centre.

The ownership and management of the club are committed to maintaining strong connections with the Coventry community as a whole, especially with Butts Park Arena being within walking distance of the city centre, and this was reflected in how the kit was unveiled to the public.

During the afternoon the players headed into the city centre for a team challenge, the groups having to have their photos taken at a number of landmarks within a timescale. For the winners, the glory, for those less quick the honour of showing off the new kit on the catwalk at the supporters’ event later in the evening.

Around 400 of the Coventry faithful packed the bars at Butts Park Arena, meeting and mingling with the players and being the first to get their hands on the new shirts. There was a short chat from Chairman Jon Sharp and an insight into the pre-season training from scrum-half Pete White, but the centre of attention was the new kit, and it was a hit with the supporters!

The new look sees Coventry return to their traditional blue and white hoops for the home shirt, and the city colour of red with green and white trim for the away kit.

RML’s logo is featured on the home and away shorts, and we’re looking forward to seeing it both at Butts Park Arena and on the road this season!

Also on show was one of the new chairs for the Coventry Wheelchair Rugby team, of which RML is proud to be the main partner. Each chair costs in the region of £3,000 and as well as RML’s investment the team has received support from a number of charities to fund the chairs.

All in all these are exciting times to be involved with Coventry Rugby, and we’re proud to be a big part of the club’s journey onwards and upwards!
