Congratulations to Rod Holt

As Robinson Manufacturing (RML) increases production to meet a surge in our transport function is growing to ensure we continue to deliver on time and in full across the UK.

While we do recruit externally, RML likes to recruit and develop staff from within the business wherever we can, so we are delighted that Rod Holt, one of our drivers based at RML North West in Cheshire, has obtained his Category C Class 2 Driving License.

Alongside the medical, the training consisted of HGV training that lasted 4 days. Rod is very passionate about playing his part in the service that RML provides to its customers and wanted to step up by gaining his Class 2 vocational entitlement.

Rod joined RML as part of its acquisition of Cheshire Roof Trusses in 2018 and has enjoyed being a part of RML for over two and a half years.

Chris Alldread the Transport Manager for RML commented:

“It’s great to see that staff are keen to develop alongside the business; I am very proud of Rod’s achievements and hope that he has many more years of driving with us”.

Rod looks forward to driving the larger vehicles and explained:

“They are much easier to drive, and more comfortable on long motorway drives, especially with the addition of cruise control”.

Rod is a great example of where RML’s approach to developing its people works – not just for its staff, but also for the business. And where we do occasionally have to recruit externally, it is easy for applicants to see working for RML as a career as much as a job.
