CET’s Nick Hill moves into Capacity Planning role

In the eye of the perfect storm of raw materials and HGV driver shortages, Robinson Manufacturing (RML) has continued to develop its structures and processes to make sure the associated production and delivery challenges are managed well for our national, regional and local housebuilders.

As part of this development, new Capacity Planning roles have been introduced.

One of the people in this new role is Nick Hill, who has built up considerable skills and knowledge as part of our Customer Experience Team since the acquisition of the joist arm of National Hickman by RML in 2019.

Nick sees his role as enhancing the systems the production team have put in place by proactively monitoring the capacity workload each day and week. This will also benefit the team and other departments within the business

Nick is enjoying organising and prioritising production to meet customer demand, especially working alongside Joist Production supporting the Business Development team:

“Moving from the CET I feel my experience gained with customers and our branches have given me knowledge of the demands of the customers and how important it is we meet these needs.” He continued “I am gaining experience and knowledge working with all the departments throughout the business and the Joist Production office have been extremely supportive in helping me settle into my new role.”

Nick has seen massive growth across the business since 2019 and welcomes the opportunities that go with that for individual employees: “The opportunities that I have been given have been substantial and I feel I have been able to growth personally within the company under a very supportive management team”

RML’s General Manager Matt Korny, who instigated the new capacity planning function, commented on Nick’s move into the new role: “Nick has brought a level of expertise and enthusiasm to his new role, which greatly compliments the existing skills of the Production Team, whilst maintaining important communication links back into Customer Experience and Business Development.  It’s a very positive step forward for Nick, and indeed the structure and processes of the Joist Department.  It’s great that RML continues to develop its employees, and to offer new opportunities.”
